I have five of these base cabinets already and just ordered another, along with the upper cabinet and tall cabinet. The base unit is very sturdy plastic, with metalic front doors. The feet are adjustable to make it very stable, and it is a good height for a standing work bench too. It has one adjustable shelf, although it is best to decide where you want it at the outset, since it is a bit difficult to remove and reset.
Follow the instructions carefully, as it's easy to get some parts in the wrong way...and very difficult to get undone.
The unit is adaptable as you can stack one on top of the other, with extra fittings to lock it in place. Not mentioned in the directions is that you need to use the right fittings to attach top and bottom, and install it in the base unit -before- you put the top piece on.
