Powerfull but has limitations July 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After reading numerous positive reviews I bought this compressor. For the price it works fine. What I don't like is the quick disconnects that are not compatible with standard 1/4" air fittings and they are not removeable. If you are just going to inflate car/truck tires there is enough power cord and air hose. You will not be able to reach all the tires on a large RV. The air chuck is the screw on type which won't work on dual wheels. Also, there is no on/off switch - as soon as you connect to the battery the unit powers up.
MF 1050 review June 25, 2008 Great product for the money. Careful handling it once its been going for a while. The metal gets hot.
High Speed Air Compressor June 14, 2008 I had been used to a Campbell-Haufield unit that I had purchased for my car for the past few years. It was very loud and took forever to inflate, though it did eventually get the job done. When I was looking for another compressor for my new pickup truck, I almost bought one at Wal-Mart, but though that I better check to see what was on Amazon first. I'm so glad that I did!
First of all, this Master Flow unit seems to be the exact same unit as the Q Industries one that Amazon is selling for $10 more. In fact, the storage bag with this Master Flow unit says Q Industries.
Cons: - on my 2004 F150, there's a lot of tension on the valve stem when filling up my driver's side rear tire (battery is on the passenger's side). I only have a regular cab pickup, the tension would be even worse for those with extended cabs. Hopefully I don't have any damaged valve stems in the future. - PSI gauge is off, usually about 5 PSI over the actual PSI. The gauge seems to be fairly accurate other than the fact that it's constantly 5 PSI off. Not a huge deal, but quality control should have caught this.
I can still rate this 5 stars though, as the unit is MUCH quieter and MUCH faster than my previous compressor. Adding 5 PSI took about 15 seconds worth of the compressor's effort. Would have taken at least 1-2 minutes with my other POS.
All in all, a GREAT buy, especially considering that this unit doesn't cost any more than the inferior Walmart models.
Master Flow MF-1050 Portable Air Compressor June 10, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
The only good thing that I can say about this product is, it's cute. It was totally unsatisfactory for my purposes. I have an RV that requires 80 PSI tire pressure. This unit wouldn't cut it. I connected the compressor to my tire with the existing pressure at 71 PSI. I turned the pump on and the 30A fuse blew immediately. I changed the fuse with the supplied spare. Same result. I disconnected the air hose from the tire and turned the pump on and it worked with out any back pressure. I attempted one more time to get it to work with the same result. This could have been just a faulty compressor but who needs the frustration.
Solid and does the job! May 27, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought this to air up the tires on my jeep after a day on the trails. Does the job nicely. Solidly built and appears that it will last a long time. Extra is that it came with a nice carry bag. Good product with a low price.
