| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Compact (pocket sized), dual-output LED flashlight designed for self-defense and personal protection. The E2D LED Defender features a solid-state, two-stage light emitting diode that generates six times the output of a typical two-D-cell flashlight at its high setting and five lumens of useful light (enough to read a map or negotiate a dark path) on low. And should 120 lumens of blinding light not be enough to convince an aggressor to back off, the E2DL's crenellated Strike Bezel and scalloped tailcap provide two sets of hard-anodized aluminum "teeth" as a last line of defense. Two useful output levels, a long runtime, a hard-anodized durable exterior, compact size, and enhanced personal protection capabilities make this flashlight a great everyday-carry option. Especially for those looking for a self-defense light with a bit more of a bite.

A great little flashlight July 10, 2008 I bought this to carry with me when I walk my dogs at night or early in the morning. It is incredibly bright -- brighter even than the big 4D Maglite flashlight I own. And it's very compact and very lightweight. It will light up objects over 100 yards away in clear conditions.
It has a tailcap pushbutton that alternates between the very bright mode and a much dimmer light that saves on the batteries and is sufficient for reading, lighting the way on dark sections of street, and checking out what the dogs are sniffing on the sidewalk.
It's expensive, but it's very well engineered and I expect it will last for many years. I also feel a little more secure carrying it -- shining this light in a bad guy's face would undoubtedly dazzle them long enough to gain some reaction time.
Terrific Tool June 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I can not believe how bright this light is at 120 lumens. It has solid construction. When you switch to the 5 lumen option, you still have enough light to hike at night with hours and hours of battery life. Even with the 120 lumen selection, you still have almost two hours of battery life. I was able to comfortably clip the light to the brim of my hat so I could work hands free.
