Extremely well made. High quality components. I just got it but it does not leak, unlike just about every plastic reel I have gotten the last several years. Will be buying more to replace plastic reels.

After a recent yard renovation, our water propelled, self-rewinding hose reel didn't look nice with the surroundings so went ahead and moved it over to our backyard for use. In doing so, was looking forward to visit the local home improvement store to find a suitable replacement. To my dissapointment, and after visiting several local home improvement stores, did not find anything that sparked an interest so looked on the internet and found the Rapid Reel. I initially felt that it was pretty pricey, however, our other reel was about the same price at the home depot. After debating for several months and not seeing anything else on the market that caught my eye, went ahead and ordered it. Assembly was very easy and quick (about 30 minutes) with the easy to follow instructions. Only thing I needed help with was to have my husband drills holes into the wall to install the reel. From there and after the hose has been connected, we've be rushing to get home and struggle daily to see who will get to unwind the hose, water and reel it up again! Great product and very happy with it.

I have had cast plastic reels in the past and they last one or two seasons. The product is sturdy and was easy to put together and mount.

I installed this a couple of weeks ago, and it works like a charm. I kick myself for having wasted so much money on cheap plastic hose reels that fall apart and are awkward to operate. I used to procrastinate about putting my sprinkler out, and then procrastinate about reeling it in again. This product reels hose as smooth as butter but is built like an iron locomotive. It is a PLEASURE to operate this thing. One warning: You have to be a little bit handy to mount it to your house, e.g. able to find studs and operate a drill.
