Disappointed July 22, 2008 I bought this primarily because of new laws in Washington punishing people who hold cell phones up to their heads while driving. I rarely call anyone on the road, but sometimes I get calls and I don't want to get a ticket. This little puppy was easy to get working with my Samsung cell phone, but it seems like I get a lot of distortion, even with the volume set to its lowest level. I can't understand people who are speaking to me about half the time. I have decided to shop for another unit. It may be my own fault. Perhaps I have failed to make some critical adjustment. Or it may be I am talking to people who are using cheap phones. Like I said, I don't use it much. I don't think driving and talking on the phone is either safe, or a good idea. I hope your experience is better than mine.
Worth the 25$ July 21, 2008 I have been using Bluetooth headsets for mostly Motorola cell phones for about five years. Price is important because these tiny devices have a tendency to get lost or stepped on. I have used this small and lightweight device for a month. since I have the Jabra earpieces, I replaced the current "clip" with this - fits/works nicely. The Samsung unit provides good sound and volume control. The feature button needs a certain pressure to activate and sometimes I have to depress it a bit extra to work right. With voice activation technology, I find I have to repeat myself a bit more then I did with the more expensive Logitech bluetooth headsets. In sum, size, fit, cost and basic operation are the big pluses....this was worth the 25$ (with free shipping)!
excellent blue tooth July 21, 2008 This is an excellent blue tooth. Pairing was simple enough if you follow the directions. The only thing I wish they included was a car charger as the majority of the time it is used is when I am driving, so that would be a convenient place to store it. The "in ear" bud takes some getting used to and can be a little uncomfortable if worn for extended periods of time, however, reception and quality is very good. This is one of the best blue tooth headsets I've used and the Amazon price was unbeatable.
Not good for Car usage July 20, 2008 All BT headsets suffer from this problem: needs to recharge! What cell phone companies need to do is create a cell phone with a removable BT headset and charge the headset while charging the cell phone. This tiny headset certainly can be part of a BlackJack II. I should probably patent this idea.
Anyway because of the California law, I bought this headset. I thought I could solve the charging problem by turning it on only when a call is coming in. Well it takes more than 4 seconds to turn it on and a few more seconds for the BT connection. By then the phone already gone into voice mail. So minus 1 star.
The second problem is trying making a call using my BJ II's voice dial (MS voice command). My car is an Acura and so it's not very noisy when all the windows are up. I still have a hard time calling anyone by name. But at home, it's very easy. So minus 1 star.
The third problem is the volume in the car. I have to adjust the volume up EVERYTIME. Otherwise I can't hear very well in the car. So minus 1 star.
Anyone have a quick turn on BT headset recommendation?
Good headset, abysmal customer service from Samsung July 19, 2008 The headset works pretty well with my treo 755p. In fact, it's the best headset I've found for the treo (tried plantronics and motorola previously without success). However, the ear hooks were missing from the package and Samsung customer service wouldn't even speak to me without me providing my phone's ESN numbers. WTH? I also attempted to make a request on Samsung's service website, which also would not function correctly. I called Amazon CS and they sent a replacement after 4 minutes on the phone. AWESOME!
