Works great when you follow instructions August 14, 2008 I've seen a lot of negative reviews of this product. Personally, I've found it to be outstanding WHEN YOU FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS! What do I mean by this? Do NOT wash the fruit before you store it. Store each type of fruit in a separate bag. There is a limit to how often you can reuse the bags (which, to be honest, may vary depending on how much ethlyene oxide each type of produce puts out). Wash the produce only just before you consume it.
What will this bag not do? It won't work on fruit that is already over-ripe or rotten. However, I've had it keep cherries in prime condition for 1 1/2 months, blueberries about 3 times longer than usual, plums and apples have been keeping for months and are still firm. I haven't tried bananas (which I find inherently problematic) and pears do best if stored slightly green Personally, I love this product. It lets me buy large quantities of fruit on sale and enjoy it at my leisure, long after the sale is past.

These don't work. Berries rotted from the inside out. Lettuce got rusty. This was after about 4 days. Tried Rubbermaid Produce Keeper and it worked much better. And the chemical in the bags gives me the creeps.
